A Special 81st Birthday

This past Thursday, June 23rd we celebrated the 81st birthday of a woman I hold very dear. My grandmother is a very special lady and one of the smartest, kindest, and strongest people I know. She truly is a gift from God, and our family rock. Grandma is one of the first people to know, any given member, of the families problems or concerns and she supports and guides them through any and all of it. She also has one of the biggest hearts and is beautiful inside and out. I cannot imagine a better grandmother!

To celebrate we went to Holmes Family Restaurant and had catfish! My mother and two sisters attended along with my Uncle Billy and wife Stefanie, their two kids Keatyn and Maggie, Uncle Wade (grandma's brother), and Aunt Betty (grandma's sister) and Uncle Sonny. I believe grandma enjoyed her "family-filled" birthday party!

Organized Pantry and Father's Day

Well my weekend began like this...

Addison took it upon herself to re-organize my pantry. I left her alone for one minute and this is where I found her. So needless to say, I had to go back in that tiny little hole and put everything back up!

Then Saturday night after Trey got off work we began to celebrate Father's Day! Trey got an early gift from Addison.

Then for Father's Day we woke up and started packing a bag for the lake! We waited til after the morning storms passed through and got to the lake around 12:00PM. Once we got out to the lake we began celebrating two great DADS! Of course, Trey got more gifts...
Notice Addison only has one shoe on, lol
Trey got his very own life-jacket from Addison and myself, and oars for his new kayak from his mom and dad. After opening the gifts we went out on the boat! It turned out to be a perfect day! To top the day off we made a trip to Belew's for dinner and a milkshake!

Addison is so blessed to have such a great dad and granddad!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, TREY!

Toddler Bed

This Wednesday, June  8th, we transformed Addison's bed into a toddler bed. It is taking her a little bit to adjust but as most of you know she has been sleeping with mommy and daddy since the day she was born. So I can imagine it is a huge adjustment for an eighteen month old. I have put her down in her own bed the last two nights and she has gotten up around 2:00 AM both nights, but we are still hanging in there...

First night sleeping in her own bed

I think the main reason she likes her own bed is because of this...
We can BOUNCE!

Lake

Here are a couple of pictures to show you of our trip Sunday on Kentucky Lake.
Pictures are from Sunday June 5th!

Addison asleep on the Jet-Ski. She has done this the last two times we have taken her on a family ride.

We sure do have a water-bug on our hands!

Addison is 18 Months Old

I cannot believe that it has already been a year and a half since my sweet little girl was born. I thank God every night for the biggest blessing in my life. I still cannot believe that he has blessed me in raising and taking care of someone so precious. Addison you truly are my sunshine!
This morning we had Addison's 18 month check-up, at Dr. Austin's office.
This morning in the doctor's office!

Addison weighed in at 23 pounds and was exactly 31 inches long. So that puts her at the 25 percentile in weight and 40th percentile in height. She is a little thing, lol.

Addison is saying several words, and learns new words almost daily. Some common words are outside, down, NO, stop, and dada.

Addison loves water no matter where it is. We just got back from the lake over the weekend and she loved playing in Mima and Granddad's big float. She also loves the bath, and rain puddles.Trey recently bought us a swimming pool and we cannot wait to use it!

Addison drinks about 24oz. of milk daily, and about a sippy cup full of juice. She still is not big on food, hence the 25th percentile in weight. Dr. Austin did assure me that this was a typical toddler though.

Addison is also constantly on the run. You cannot stop this girl. I can already tell she is going to be a daredevil. Nothing scares her. She is learning how to walk up and down stairs. She also loves to dance!

Addison is full of personality. She will look at you and just babbles and shakes her head. She is always cracking me up with "her" looks.

Addison's favorite T.V. show at the moment is Sesame Street. We watch about two episodes daily.

This is one of her favorite toys...

She walks straight up to the fridge and pushes the button and it plays music, and she begins to dance.

I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this sweet bundle of joy!
Mommy and Daddy Love YOU!
