I'm Just Wild about "Roar".

So for a few weeks we had been planning a trip to the zoo! Finally, the decision was made and we went on Saturday, March 24th! On that morning we got Addison out of bed and she started asking if she was going to see "ROAR?" We had been talking about it for about two days, and had been asking if she was ready! We started off to Nashville at about 10:00 AM. We made it about the ten minutes down the road when Trey realized he had forgotten his Bass Pro Shop giftcards from Christmas and was determined to not make the trip without them. So we turned the car around and headed back home. We grabbed the cards and started off again. We stopped and had lunch at Mcdonald's in Paris, TN. Then continued our journey towards Nashville. As we were nearing Clarksville we ran into some rain! So why not stop at Target and do a little shopping? We stopped to try to let the rain fade off. After shopping, we got back in the car with plans to go to the zoo next. With our luck though, it started raining harder and so we made our next stop at the Bass Pro Shop!  I let Addison check out the fishes in the store while Trey did his own little shopping. After we were finished at the Bass Pro Shop the rain had blown on, and the sun was shining! What a great decision we had made, to get the shopping out of the way! Our next stop was the zoo!

Addison loved every animal we spotted! The first main stop were the monkeys! After every animal encounter we would say "bye", but there was one animal we begged to see! That would be Roar, AKA Lions~

We were out of the stroller and yelling to "See"

From that moment on there was a fight to sit in the stoller...
So we came up with a compromise.

and a big girl..,.

Runs!

We saw tigers, flamingos, meerkats, alligators, giraffes, and elephants!

We saw lots more but those were probably the highlights!

We did have to make an extra trip to revisit "Roar!" This is when we had a boo-boo, and busted a knee!

We hope for another visit to another zoo!
Addison loves the animals!

Love this picture!

Disney Live!

Recently we enjoyed a great afternoon with three very pretty princesses! On Sunday, March 11th, we went to the CFSB Center to see Cinderella, Belle, and Snow White at Disney LIVE! Of course, Whit and I carried two special princesses of our own! Addison went to the show while battling a horrible virus called RSV! A virus that caused her to miss one FULL week of day-care!

But in the end my little girly hung in there while watching on of the cutest shows! She loved the music and recognizing the different characters from some of her favorite movies, especially Cinderella ("rella")!

It was a show that was fun for all ages!  Since Whit and myself both grew up with the Disney classics ourselves!

Then at the end of the show we rushed home to continue with our breathing treatments!

It is times like these that I love having a little girl of my own! It is so much fun to see her face light up with such joy! It is also neat for her to grow up watching movies that I enjoyed as a child and can now share with her!

Memories in the Making.

A few tid-bits I want to remember about Addison at the age of 28 months.

  • The way she calls Elmo "LA LA". (We are guessing from the Elmo's World Theme Song)
  • How she has begun to sing.
  • The way she calls anything that has to do with a lion or tiger "ROAR" and the way she roars with a scrunched up nose. (Currently The Lion King is her favorite movie.)
  • The way she scrunches her nose.
  • Her sweetness and hugs and kisses she gives so generously.
  • The way she dances and stands on her head with her little knees on the ground. She looks like she is trying to break-dance. (I believe she picked this up from her cousin, Griffin)
  • The way she squeezes my neck when she is falling asleep.
  • My little Climber
  • Her little jumps.
  • How she has started putting her babies "night, night" and wiping their dirty bottoms!
  • The cuteness of her delivering her home cooked meals from her very own kitchen, and the way she copies what she sees mommy doing in the kitchen.
  • The way she copies EVERYTHING she sees or watches on T.V. She is our little copycat!
  • Loves being naked and running around the house.
  • Her obsession of water and animals.
  • How she calls Batman "Guy."

  • That she has almost accomplished using the potty and being completely "potty trained." She woke up in the middle of the night last night to tell me she had to use the potty!

Fun Times.

We haven't been doing much worth documenting here at the Long house! I have recently gone back to work and we have just been relaxing and enjoying the little bit of sunshine that we have had. The first weekend of March Addison and I got out and enjoyed a little mother-daughter time.

We went to Fern Terrance and visited the animals they have...

Addison loved them and was a little too excited.

We played and learned a little bit about our shadow...

and we also took a trip to the park with Reagan and Griffin...

I am looking forward to a trip to the zoo, hopefully in the near future, and more days at the park!
