11th Title

Congrats to the Cardinals on their 11th World Series title in 2011!

Trey, Addison, and myself all watched the Cardinals win the World Series last night at the comfort of our own home! It was fun to watch this little bit of history go down!

Broken Arm Update

Showing Mommy her arm
Today we took a trip to the doctor's office for a check-up of the arm. The doctor cut the cast off and took some more x-rays. The fracture is still healing, as expected, and it looks like we will have to wait until November 7th to remove the cast completely. We are able to take the cast off for bath time, and a little play time so that Addison's arm does not stay so stiff. This will also ease the pain and problem of getting dressed in the mornings. Some mornings we have tried three different shirts and just cannot get a one to slide up over that huge cast!

As for now we continue dancing...

Another First In The Book...

Last night,October 12th, 2011, was another "first" in the story of Addison. While I was scrubbing on the refrigerator, I could hear the joy of Trey and Addison playing in the living room. The next noise I heard was not so pleasant. I heard Addison profusely screaming. She had fallen off the couch and landed with her arm twisted. It was a pitiful site. My poor baby girl cried for 45 minutes straight while her dad and I tried to decide what to do. We were not sure if her arm was badly hurt or if she was just putting on to get a little more attention! We sure were like hawks watching our prey though! We did not take our eyes off her. For an hour straight we watched every move that she made. Addison was not using her right arm for anything, and would not drink from her sippy cup because she could not use her right arm to hold it up. During this time we made several phone calls! The first was to her pediatrician office. We were advised to go on to the ER and have x-rays. Then we called Mima and asked her what she thought. Trey and I were trying to avoid the ER and their high expenses at all costs. In the meantime, I gave Addison some Motrin and she fell asleep. So Trey and I decided to get through the night and go to the doctor first thing in the morning.

Today, Trey and Addison went to the doctor's office to have her arm checked out. The doctor looked her arm over and moved it around and told Trey that Addison seemed to be in little pain and that she did not believe that the arm was broken but the doctor decided to go ahead with x-rays "just in case." Good thing they went through with the x-rays because my baby has a cracked bone at her elbow and will be wearing this new accessory for the next 4 weeks!

I guess Addison is just one tough cookie!
